Any Comments on Content?

I have been dutifully posting to the Blog almost everyday because Dave warned me that if I don't people will lose interest and stop reading it.
But I think you've lost interest anyway and have probably stopped reading it.
This is fine. Don't feel bad. I realize that much of it is just about me getting some stuff off my b cups.
If, however, you have some suggestions for content, please let me know. I sometimes wonder whether it is better to write posts about my emotional state (always news, even to me) , my intellectual interest of the day, or to provide actual text from what I am writing (I am hesitant to do this last thing because I am paranoid of dissertation thieves but I can do snippets).
Or maybe you just want a weather update?
It's a little chillier today and I think officially fall.

I disagree with Dave about posting every day. I think a few times a week is enough, and that your readers will still love you if you don't post every day.

As for what to post, that's the thing about blogs -- you can post whatever you fancy! Here are a couple links to some blogs that I find inspiring when I'm not sure what to post:

http://www.threebeautifulthings.blogspot.com/

http://www.doorsixteen.com/

And you can always blog about your kitchen renovation...

Because at the end of the day, whether you're writing directly about your dissertation or not, it's all part of the process.

Oh, and little excerpts would be fun too!

Blog on, sister.

When blogging, I always found it useful, at least as a fall-back, to mention "what I learned today." It could be anything, totally anything. But the more random and obscure the knowledge, the better. Like the fact that, centuries after the Crusades ended, there are still something four European aristocrats who claim the title "King of Jerusalem," or the fact that the song "Superstar" was not in fact written by The Carpenters. (I stole those both from my old blog, but at one point I discovered the information on my own.) Anything where you can end the post with "I did not know that." Chances are your readers didn't know either. I thought this might help since you probably come across a lot of otherwise seemingly useless (but in fact precious) knowledge in your line of work.

Just because people aren't commenting doesn't mean people aren't reading. If you are looking for more commentary you probably will need to BOTH post everday (sorry Amy) AND ask questions like this.

I just added a comment about Julia Margaret Cameron being Woolf's Great Aunt! I didn't know that until I read it on your blog. See, I've learned something new today! Thanks Lauren!
